MSL:
The biggest news out of the MSL last weekend was a three-team trade that sent Ryan Lanchbury to the Peterborough Lakers. He now joins three of his Rochester teammates, Matt Gilray, Adam Thistlethwaite, and Brad McCulley. The Lakers are 3-3 and sit fourth in the MSL standings after doubling Brooklin in points on June 10, 8-4. Lanchbury’s first game with the squad will be June 21 against the Cobourg Kodiaks.

The Chiefs still reign supreme, undefeated at the top of the standings. Ryan Smith has posted at least two points in all five games he’s played so far this summer. Most recently, he scored two goals against Brampton on June 11 to help his team move to 6-0.
PLL:
It was a bye week for the PLL, taking a break for state finals across the country. Despite that, there was still news out of the PLL on Saturday, June 13. Zed Williams was released by the Waterdogs with no intention of playing for one of the other seven teams in the league. Instead, he will play close to home for the Allegany Arrows in Senior “B”. Senior “B”:
There are now three Knighthawks in Senior “B” with Williams joining the Allegany Arrows. He already played against Taylor Jensen in his first game back in the box this summer.
The Arrows and Braves matched up on Saturday night for a tightly contested affair. It took a come-from-behind effort by Tonawanda as they tried to close a three-goal gap in the second period. They entered the final frame trailing 6-5.
Williams played most of the night coming out of the defensive door as one of Allegany’s biggest bodies. He caused multiple turnovers and scooped up over five loose balls while also notching a secondary assist in transition. His time coming out of the offensive door came exclusively on the power play, where he ran the point for the Arrows.
Jensen continued his impressive summer play, making the biggest plays in the most crucial moments. He was the one to drive transition and earned the primary assist on the Braves’ game-tying goal to open the third period. Minutes later, he stripped possession from the Arrows and drove down the floor to create another goal; this time, it gave the Braves a two-goal lead, which they held on to for the win 9-7.
Cam MacLeod played two games in the last week and has continued to put up strong numbers. He made 48 stops against the Sr. Rebels and 42 against the Knights. In June, MacLeod stopped 90 of 103 shots faced for a .873 save percentage while averaging only 6.5 goals against. The Miners lead the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League with a 6-1 record. MacLeod is undefeated this summer in net, going 5-0.
