UCBLL
The UCBLL provides American collegiate players an opportunity to improve their overall lacrosse skillset through box lacrosse, to compete for a national championship, and also increase their chances of one day playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).
Roots Youth Box Lacrosse League
Roots Youth Box Lacrosse League powered by the Rochester Knighthawks and US Box Lacrosse focus on teaching the fundamentals of the box games as well as gaining game experience. The league features the best box lacrosse coaches in Rochester with current and former NLL players, as well as other box experts. The USBOXLA certified referees promote a safe box environment, that way the skills of the sport are on full display.
Jr. Knighthawks
The Rochester Knighthawks offer the opportunity to play for the Jr. Knighthawks program. This elite box team plays in several high-profile tournaments, including the I-90 Cup against the Jr. Bandits. The highlight of the summer is competing in the prestigious Jr. NLL Tournament, a chance to take on youth teams from NLL franchise cities across North America. Teams are be coached by current and former NLL pro’s as well as other box experts.
High School Game of The Week
The Rochester Knighthawks are proud to present the High School Lacrosse Game of the Week! For the High School Lacrosse season in the Greater Rochester Area, the Knighthawks will be front and center on the local high school lacrosse scene as a part of a new weekly series that will feature the latest news and notes, scores and stats of select games.
Community Initiatives
C.U.R.E. – Pizza Party
The Rochester Knighthawks organized a virtual pizza party for children and their families who were receiving assistance from C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association. Thanks to the help of Caraglio’s Pizza, the Official Pizza of the Rochester Knighthawks, individual pizza kits were created for each child and their family in order to build their very own Caraglio’s Pizza in the comfort of their own home. Knighthawks players and staff delivered pizza kits to C.U.R.E. families around Rochester before jumping on a Zoom call so players, kids, and their families could build their pizzas together.
C.U.R.E. – Player Meet & Greet (Post Game)
The Rochester Knighthawks wore specialty jerseys for CURE Cancer Night during the 2021-22 season which honored those children who were currently receiving, had received treatment, or tragically lose their battle against cancer. The Knighthawks honored these children by wearing specialty nameplates which featured different children’s names. After the game concluded, players had the opportunity to meet with these very same children and their families to sign autographs, take photos, and chat.
Villa of Hope – Anti-Bullying Campaign
Rochester Knighthawks players Ryland Rees and Dan Coates visited the Villa of Hope to talk to students about dangers of bullying and methods everyone can take to prevent bullying in our society. Ryland and Dan also answered questions from students and staff about their own careers and instances where they stepped in to stop instances of bullying.
Villa of Hope – Lacrosse 101 Clinic
Rochester Knighthawks players Ryland Rees and Dan Coates visited the Villa of Hope again during the 2021-22 season to educate students on the history of lacrosse along with teaching some fundamentals of the game. A variety of basic skills were covered from cradling, shooting, which culminated in a relay race game which pitted the students against the Knighthawks players. After the clinic concluded, the players signed autographs and took photos with some of the students and staff.
Theme Nights
Native American Heritage/Every Child Matters Knight
A night celebrating and supporting Native American groups in Western New York in addition to honoring their history within in the region. The game itself will feature various content, activations, ticket promotions and merchandise themed around Native American Heritage and the vital role indigenous peoples have played in the history of the “Creator’s game.”
C.U.R.E. Cancer Knight
The team will wear the newly-designed white away jerseys at home with names of loved ones added to the side panels of each jersey. Fans can submit the name of a loved one to be honored, with a $25 donation to C.U.R.E. at rochesterknighthawks.com/LovedOnes. Proceeds of the game-worn jersey auction will benefit the C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Foundation.
Military Salute
Free tickets to all – Active, Reserve, National Guard and Retired military personnel with additional discounted tickets available. The Knighthawks players will also sport Military-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit Veterans Outreach Center.
