(Rochester, NY)… The National Lacrosse League (NLL) season may be over for the Rochester Knighthawks, but the summer lacrosse season is just around the corner. Some players have already started playing, while others will roll into play next week.
This summer, 19 Knighthawks are playing in several leagues: Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), Major Series Lacrosse (MSL), the Can-Am Lacrosse League (CALL), and the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League (RMLL).
Three Knighthawks will be busy coaching this summer instead of playing. Captain Dan Coates will be running the St. Catharines Athletics Jr. “A” program as head coach with Ian Llord alongside him as the defensive coordinator. Brad Gillies will be stepping into a new role as the National Program Director for Sweetlax Lacrosse.
PLL
Eight Knighthawks will play on five different teams in the PLL this summer. The PLL is the top of the field lacrosse game, featuring eight teams that play every weekend of the summer. Their season opened on May 8 and ends with their championship on Sept. 20.
