(Rochester, NY)… Knighthawks President and General Manager Dan Carey announced today that the team has signed forward Jake Rosa to a three-year contract, pending league approval.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound lefty forward comes to Rochester after a five-year career at St. Bonaventure, where he became one of the program’s first standouts. He finished his career with 72 goals and 50 assists in 50 career games. He was First Team All-Conference as a sophomore and a junior. As a sophomore, he was also the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Year and was selected to the MAAC All-Championship Team. He still ranks second all-time in St. Bonaventure goals, assists, and points.
For the last two summers, he’s suited up for the Owen Sound North Stars of Major Series Lacrosse. In 15 games, he scored one goal and notched eight assists.
In 2023, the Buffalo Bandits selected him 53rd overall in the third round of the NLL Entry Draft before he returned to school for his final season of college lacrosse. The Bandits released him during training camp in 2025; he has not yet played a game in the NLL.
Before college, Rosa split time between Junior “A” with the Six Nations Arrows and Junior “B” with the Windsor Clippers. From 2017-19, he played in 20 games for the Arrows, scoring nine goals and adding 23 assists. In those same years, he amassed 57 goals and 95 assists in 35 games for Windsor. In the summer of 2019, he was traded to Kitchener-Waterloo, where he scored eight goals and bagged 10 assists in 14 games over two seasons.
His father, John, played 10 seasons in the NLL from 1994 to 2005.
