Rochester Knighthawks General Manager and Vice President of Lacrosse Operations Dan Carey announced today that the team has signed defenseman Greg Harnett to a one-year contract, pending league approval.
Harnett, 33, comes to Rochester for his 10th season in the NLL having totaled 35 points (11+24) and 316 loose-ball recoveries in 119 career games for the Calgary Roughnecks. He also produced seven points (1+6) in 23 postseason contests with the Roughnecks, with whom he spent his first nine seasons and won his only NLL championship with in 2019.
He was under a one-year contract with Buffalo in 2022-23 but did not appear in a game, finishing the season on the holdout list.
The Orangeville, Ontario, native posted six goals and 13 points for 19 points in 37 games with the Victoria Shamrocks (WLA) from 2012-2015. He also logged 58 points (17+41) in 47 contests while helping the Orangeville Northmen (OJALL) to back-to-back Minto Cup Championships in 2008 and 2009.
Harnett was originally a second-round selection (11th overall) of the Roughnecks in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft.
