(Rochester, NY)… Rochester Knighthawks President and General Manager Dan Carey announced today that the team has signed defenseman Brent Noseworthy to a three-year deal, pending league approval.
“Brent plays with an edge and brings a physical presence to our defense,” said Carey. “He’s willing to do whatever it takes to win, and we’re excited to add his leadership to our club, both on and off the floor.”
The Knighthawks selected the Burlington, Ontario, native with their second-round selection (15th overall) in Tuesday’s National Lacrosse League Dispersal Draft. Noseworthy enters his seventh season in the NLL after appearing in 18 games last season with the Ottawa Black Bears. In his career, he has played in 91 games, posting 41 points (6+35), 513 loose-ball recoveries, 62 blocked shots, and 55 caused turnovers.
Noseworthy broke into the NLL during the 2019-20 season after being selected 12th overall by the Buffalo Bandits in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft. In March of 2022, the Bandits sent him and a 2022 fourth-round pick to New York in exchange for a 2024 first-round draft pick. He spent two seasons in New York before moving with the franchise to Ottawa for the 2024-25 season.
In the pro field game, Noseworthy was selected by the Boston Cannons with the 30th overall pick in the 2019 Major League Lacrosse Draft. Later that year, the New York Atlas selected him in the inaugural Premier Lacrosse League College Draft with the 23rd overall pick.
At the collegiate level, Noseworthy spent four years at the University of Michigan and was a two-time Tewaaraton Award watch list honoree. With the Wolverines, he became the first player in program history to record 100 goals (102) and ranked second among all-time Michigan lacrosse players in points (119). He was named an Academic All-American in 2018-19 and served as team captain in 2019.
In his summer box career, Noseworthy made stops with the Junior “A” Burlington Blaze, Junior “B” Oakville Buzz, and Senior “A” Burlington Blaze of Major Series Lacrosse.
