Rochester Knighthawks General Manager and Vice President of Lacrosse Operations Dan Carey announced today that the team has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with defenseman Tyler Biles, pending NLL approval.
Biles finished his third season with the Knighthawks in 2022-23, recording two assists and a career-high 37 loose ball recoveries while racking up 24 penalty minutes.
Biles began his professional career by appearing in six games in his rookie season during the 2019-20 campaign with the Knighthawks, collecting 15 loose balls. He ranked third among all first-year defensemen while also totaling six caused turnovers, which were third-best between all the club’s rookies.
In 40 career NLL games, all with Rochester, the 6-foot-1, 209-pound defenseman he recorded five points (1+4) and 94 penalty minutes.
During the 2019 season while with Brampton Excelsiors, Biles set career-highs in goals (1), assists (7) and points (8) while also adding one assist in eight playoff appearances. Since 2015, he has appeared in 78 combined Junior “A” games with Brampton and Halton Hills, recording one goal and 16 assists for 17 points.
A native of Etobicoke, Ontario, Biles was originally a fourth-round selection (49th overall) of the Knighthawks in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft.
