89.1 The Point announced today that they will broadcast six Upstate Collegiate Box Lacrosse League (UCBLL) games this summer. Games will be available on 89.1 FM and live-streamed on the 891thepoint.com livestream link.

Coming off its biggest college lacrosse broadcasting season to date, 89.1 The Point will dive right back into lacrosse action with the UCBLL, bringing fans interviews, videos, stories, and more to listeners and fans.

The inaugural broadcast from The Blue Cross Arena is set for Thursday, June 29. Coverage begins at 6:45 p.m. with faceoff set for 7:00 p.m. between the Armory and the first-place Hawkeyes. Chamberlain Bauder will handle play-by-play duties. Fans can also check out postgame interviews on the UCBLL’s Facebook and Twitter accounts (@UpstateBoxLax). 

89.1 The Point is a student-run radio station on the campus of SUNY Brockport that broadcasts to seven counties, even Canada. They cover the counties of Monroe, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Erie, Niagara, and Livingston.

The UCBLL is in its third season, showcasing current high school and college players. The league is among the most successful in the National Collegiate Box Series (NCBS) circuit. Not only have teams advanced to the playoffs of the NCBS National Championships in back-to-back campaigns, but the league has seen six of its players selected in the NLL Entry Draft.

The league features six current NLL players as coaches. Knighthawks Dan Coates and Ryland Rees, and Bandits Ethan O’Connor, Dalton Sulver, Ian MacKay, and Chris Cloutier are behind the benches this summer.
