(Rochester, NY)… Rochester Knighthawks President and General Manager Dan Carey announced today that the team has re-signed Adam Thistlethwaite to a two-year deal, pending National Lacrosse League approval.
“Adam’s a fast, hard-nosed player who will do whatever he can to help the team,” said Carey. “He’s aggressive and relentless, and we are excited for him to bring his high compete level to camp.”
During his rookie campaign, Thistlethwaite posted three assists and 23 loose-ball recoveries in seven games. He made his NLL debut against San Diego in the team’s season opener and posted his first two NLL points with assists against Philadelphia in the home opener the next week. He closed out the season with his strongest performance, collecting a career-high seven loose balls and adding an assist against Georgia.
“I am fired up to be back with the team for another year,” said Thistlethwaite. “It’s an exciting time to be a Knighthawk. We will be back at it with something to prove.”
Thistlethwaite was the Knighthawks’ first pick in the 2025 NLL Entry Draft, selected 24th overall. Before making the jump to the pros, he played four seasons at the University at Albany (2022-25). In 28 career college games, he posted two goals, two assists, and collected 12 ground balls.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defenseman has also spent the past four summers with the Peterborough Lakers of Major Series Lacrosse. In 2026, he appeared in 15 games, recording one goal and one assist. In 56 career games with Peterborough, he has collected seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points.
Thistlethwaite previously played parts of five seasons with the Junior “A” Peterborough Lakers, collecting 21 points on five goals and 16 assists in 60 games. The Cobourg, Ontario, native also appeared in nine games with Ennismore at the Senior “B” level in 2024.
