Celebrate Halfway to Canada Day with the Knighthawks as we take on the Panther City Lacrosse Club on Saturday, January 7 at 7:00pm. Tickets are available now!
PREGAME ACTIVITIES
As you pass by Niagara Falls and enter Canada, you’ll receive your passport for the knight. Enjoy music from our live band in the concourse at the top of the stairs! There are also a few things you’ll want to check off your Canadian bucket list before faceoff so you’ll feel like you’ve gotten the full Canadian experience:
SNAP A PHOTO IN FRONT OF THE CN TOWER
The CN Tower is the iconic feature of the Toronto skyline, and you’ll be able to snap a photo in front of it.
TAKE A STROLL DOWN OLD MONTREAL
The cobblestone streets of Old Montreal are as iconic as they are gorgeous, especially during the winter! Take a quick stroll down one of the streets (but don’t worry: you won’t feel a chill) to take in the beautiful history.
TASTE DIFFERENT GRADES OF MAPLE SYRUP
Do you prefer amber rich maple syrup or dark robust? Find out at our maple syrup tasting station, where we’ve imported Canada’s finest nectar.
KISS THE COD
If you’ve never heard of the tradition of kissing the cod in Newfoundland, we’ve got you! After you grab a drink, make sure you snag a quick selfie as you “kiss the fish” and officially become an honorary Canadian.
p.s. you’ll be in great Canadian company, as the Toronto Maple Leafs like to participate in this tradition during camp.
ORDER POUTINE
No Halfway to Canada Day celebration would be complete without the tastiest Canadian delicacy: poutine! For Saturday night only, you can order poutine at the two stands that normally serve Buffalo fries (we’ll update you on their exact location).
SEND A POSTCARD HOME
No trip is complete without sending a postcard! Don’t fret: this postcard won’t be mailed back to you, but it will enter you for the chance to win four tickets to our game in Toronto on March 4.
ENJOYING BOTH ANTHEMS
Even though we’re playing Panther City, we’ll still honor both Canada and the United States with two anthems pregame. Get to your seats so that you don’t miss either!
DURING THE GAME
Did you know that lacrosse is the official summer sport of Canada? Well we’re certainly biased to the winter game, and we’re so excited to watch our UNDEFEATED squad finally take the floor again!
CANADA FACTS
Brush up on your facts about Canada, which will be featured on the videoboard pregame. If you’re selected to participate in our timeout trivia, you’ll be happy you studied up.
POLITEST PA ANNOUNCER EVER
Listen carefully because you just might notice that our PA announcer will officially become the politest PA announcer ever… Sorry!
MUSIC FROM CANADIAN ARTISTS
Throughout the game, you’ll get to enjoy music from our favorite Canadian artists. Tweet at us if you have any suggestions on what we should play!
POUTINE-EATING CONTEST
Our four contestants have been chosen, and they’ll be competing in a poutine-eating contest during a timeout. The winner will receive the esteemed Golden Syrup Trophy.
MAPLE SYRUP GUESSING GAME
Speaking of maple syrup, fans will compete during another timeout to see if they can identify which maple syrup is from Canada, which is from the Northeast, and which is the generic store-bought brand. (You should have a leg-up if you try our pregame tasting!)
AFTER THE GAME
Don’t forget: our first post-game party, presented by Kona Brewing, is at The Exchange immediately following the game. You’ll be transported back to the United States (but no passport needed, just an ID if you’re planning to sample the Kona Brewing product). The full team will be there for photos, autographs, and you can win Knighthawks prizes through our raffle.
