Completing his seventh season in the NLL and fifth with the Knighthawks, Gilray has ranked among the top transition players in the league for loose-ball recoveries and caused turnovers since 2022. In 2026, he ranked second on the team with 17 blocked shots.
He currently holds the franchise record for blocked shots (66), caused turnovers (91), and loose-ball recoveries (601). He ranks second all-time in games played (83) and ranks fifth all-time in penalty minutes (54) and game-winning goals with three. Gilray holds multiple single-game and single-season records for Rochester as well. His 19 loose-ball recoveries against Toronto in 2025 set a franchise record, while he's tied the record for blocked shots (4) four times in his career. Over the course of a season, he holds the record for most assists and points by a transition player and the most loose-ball recoveries in a single season.
Originally selected third overall by the Buffalo Bandits in the 2018 NLL Entry Draft, he came to Rochester for multiple first-round picks in 2020. Gilray is also a four-time Mann Cup winner with the Peterborough Lakers. He played collegiately at Bucknell University, where he was a two-time team captain.
