Rochester Knighthawks General Manager and Vice President of Lacrosse Operations Dan Carey announced today that the team has released forward Mark Cockerton, placed transition man Chris Willman on the holdout list and activated defenseman Dustyn Pratt off the practice squad. Additionally, defenseman Travis Burton has been assigned to the practice squad from injured reserved. All four transactions are pending league approval.
Cockerton appeared in three games with the Knighthawks, producing two goals and four assists for six points. The Oshawa, Ontario, native registered 22 shots while also collecting 13 loose balls.
In 28 career games between the former Knighthawks franchise, New England Black Wolves and current Rochester franchise, Cockerton, a former first-round selection (sixth overall) in the 2014 NLL Entry Draft, has recorded 17 goals and 22 assists for 39 points while also totaling 100 loose balls and 110 shots on goal.
Willman has appeared in eight games with the Knighthawks this season, recording five assists and 29 loose ball recoveries while also winning 44 of 104 face-off attempts.
Pratt collected a pair of loose balls in Rochester’s 13-12 victory over New York on Feb. 29, which also served as his professional debut.
Burton made his season debut with the Knighthawks on Dec. 28 against the Toronto Rock, recording one shot and one loose ball in the contest.
