Rochester Knighthawks General Manager and Vice President of Lacrosse Operations Dan Carey announced today that the team has re-signed defenseman Tyler Halls to a two-year contract, pending league approval.
Halls, 24, returns to Rochester for his third season having recorded seven assists and a career-high 86 loose ball recoveries while winning 127 faceoffs during the 2022-23 campaign. He made his NLL playoff debut during the Knighthawks first-ever playoff game against the Buffalo Bandits, gathering five loose balls.
In 25 career NLL games, all with Rochester, Halls has recorded 10 points (1+9) and has gathered 127 loose ball recoveries. Additionally, he is a two-time Teammate of the Year.
Before turning pro, Halls played three seasons with the Orangeville Northmen of the Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJALL) from 2017-19, registering 25 points on 11 goals and 14 assists in 51 career games. Additionally, the Caledon, Ontario, native appeared in 34 playoff games, adding 10 points (3+7).
In his final season with Northmen in 2019, he posted a career-high six goals and six assists and 12 points while also helping the club win a Minto Cup.
Halls originally signed a two-year contract with Rochester on Aug. 10, 2021, as an undrafted free agent.
