The Armory and Hawkeyes faced off one final time in UCBLL regular-season play Wednesday night at Segar & Sciortino Field at The Blue Cross Arena where the Armory clinched the regular season title thanks to a 15-10 victory to push their overall record to 5-1 on the year.
Armory’s offense was led by forward Luke Pilcher‘s (3+2) five-point night as he scored three goals and added two assists while teammates Kaleb Benedict (4+0), Rioux Johnson (2+2), Lars Stout (1+3), Casey McDermott (1+2) and Harrison Cross (0+2) had multi-points efforts. Joey Pezzimenti (1+0), Camden Hay (1+0), Hunter Lemieux (1+0) and Jeremy Jacob (1+0) all scored in the win.
Goaltender William Dempsey (5-1), who notched his fifth win of the season in his six starts, made 40 saves on the 50 shots he faced.

Despite a game-high eight points on the strength of six goals and two assists from Koleton Marquis, the Hawkeyes dropped their third game of the campaign and second straight to the Armory. Mason Homer (1+1) and Trevor Hill (1+1) both registered a pair of points (1+1) while Nicholas Hill (1+0) and Nathan Schultzkie (1+0) both tallied a marker. Carson Colucci (0+1) recorded an assist.
Netminder Kyle Meagher (2-2) made 36 saves, including 17 in the fourth quarter, but suffered the loss.
With the conclusion of Wednesday night’s contest, there are only two more games left in the inaugural season of the Upstate College Box Lacrosse League. On Monday, July 26, the Buffaloes will take on the Armory at 8 p.m. in Buffalo, while the regular season will wrap up on Wednesday, July 28 in a matchup between the Buffaloes and Hawkeyes in Buffalo.
Playoffs for the Upstate College Box Lacrosse League will begin the following day on Thursday, July 29 when the second and third seeds will square off at Segar & Sciortino Field at The Blue Cross Arena at 7 p.m. The championship game will be held in Rochester as well on Monday, August 2 at 7 p.m.
