The National Lacrosse League announced today that Rochester Knighthawks forward Ryan Lanchbury has been named the Gatorade Canada NLL Player of the Week for Week 6 of the 2024-25 season.
Lanchbury scored three goals and added six assists for a team-high nine points in the 16-9 win over previously unbeaten Georgia as the Knighthawks handed the Swarm their first loss of the season while subsequently helping Rochester snap a four-game skid in the process.
Lanchbury, whose led the Knighthawks in points in each of the last four games, is currently tied with Philadelphia’s Joe Resetarits for the NLL scoring lead with 34 points in six games. He’s also tied for fourth in the league in assists (22) and ninth in goals (12).

Lanchbury completed his first season with the Knighthawks in 2023-24 after being acquired from the Georgia Swarm in December 2023. The Burlington, Ontario, native tallied career-highs in goals (20), assists (66) and points (86) in 17 contests with Rochester while also collecting 41 loose balls. He topped all Knighthawks in assists and ranked third and fifth in goals and points, respectively.
His best performance of the season came back on March 9 when he set a team single-game record with 12 assists in the 18-12 win over Albany.
The 26-year-old forward, who added one assist during Rochester’s postseason contest, has combined for 136 points (38+98) in 33 regular-season games between the Knighthawks and Swarm since the start of the 2022-23 campaign.
Prior to turning pro, he completed a five-year collegiate career at the University of Richmond from 2018-2022. In 70 career games with the Spiders, Lanchbury totaled 293 points (162+131). He also recorded 467 shots while recovering 71 loose balls.
He ranks first all-time in Richmond scoring history in points, goals, assists and scored in 54-straight games, which was the fourth-longest streak in the NCAA Division I lacrosse. Lanchbury was named Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Year, becoming the first Spider in program history to earn the award following the 2021 season.
Lanchbury was originally a first-round selection (2nd overall) of the Swarm in the 2021 NLL Entry Draft.
