Rochester Knighthawks General Manager and Vice President of Lacrosse Operations Dan Carey announced today that the team has re-signed forward Turner Evans to a one-year contract for the 2024-25 National Lacrosse League seasons, pending league approval.
Evans, 30, returns to Rochester for his fifth season with the Knighthawks having recorded 38 goals and 95 assists for 133 points with Rochester since the start of 2020. During the 2023-24 campaign, Evans, who served as an alternate captain, posted four goals and 16 assists in 10 games. The Peterborough, Ontario, native also gathered 22 loose balls recoveries and notched five power-play points (1+4) while registering 29 shots.
In 99 career NLL games with Rochester, San Diego and Toronto, Evans has totaled 250 points on 77 goals and 173 assists since the start of the 2016 campaign. Additionally, he has gathered 357 loose ball recoveries while also registering 321 shots.
Before turning pro, Evans played his collegiate lacrosse at Ohio State University, where he was a four-time Scholar-Athlete and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. In 59 games for the Buckeyes, he tallied 97 points on 54 goals and 43 assists. He was named a First Team All-ECAC selection in 2014 before receiving USILA All-American honors in 2015.
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound forward is also a four-time Mann Cup champion with his hometown Peterborough Lakers, winning titles in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022.
Evans was originally drafted in the second round (10th overall) of the 2015 NLL Draft by the San Diego Seals.
