Rochester set to open fifth NLL season at home on Saturday, Nov. 30 against Las Vegas

The Rochester Knighthawks announced today their schedule for the 2024-25 National Lacrosse League regular season.

The Knighthawks, who will again play an 18-game season (nine home, nine away), are slated to open their fifth NLL campaign at home on Saturday, Nov. 30 when they host the Las Vegas Desert Dogs at Segar & Sciortino Field at The Blue Cross Arena as part of the League’s Face Off Weekend.

The NLL will again operate under the unified standings format for the upcoming season, meaning all 14 member clubs will be ranked regardless of geography, allowing the continuation of established rivalries and the ability to showcase the league’s continental reach across North America. For the fourth consecutive year, every NLL game will be distributed on ESPN+ and TSN+.

The Knighthawks will play each of the other 13 teams at least once but will have a pair of meetings (one home, one road) against the Buffalo Bandits, Halifax Thunderbirds, Las Vegas Desert Dogs, Ottawa Black Bears and Saskatchewan Rush.

For the first time in franchise history, Rochester opens the season with back-to-back home games and will play three of its four within the friendly confines of Segar & Sciortino Field at The Blue Cross Arena. After hosting Las Vegas in the home opener, the Knighthawks then welcome the two-time defending NLL champion Buffalo Bandits for an intrastate showdown on Saturday, Dec. 7, kicking off a four-game slate for the month of December.

Rochester then makes its inaugural visit to Vancouver for its lone meeting of the season against the Warriors the following weekend on Friday, Dec. 13 in what will be the first of three Friday matchups for the Knighthawks this season.

Rochester’s 2024-25 campaign also features a home-and-home series against Halifax in January following its only contest of the season in Georgia to open the New Year.

The Knighthawks will play three of their four games in February on the road, beginning with a season-long three-game road swing which includes stops in Philadelphia, Saskatchewan and Calgary.

The team will close out the regular season with three straight home contests, marking the longest homestand of the season, with matchups against San Diego, Ottawa and Toronto over that stretch.

The Knighthawks get their first look at the Black Bears, who enter their first season in the NLL following their relocation from Long Island, when they head north of the border for an afternoon matinee on Saturday, March 15.

The Knighthawks will play all but one of their nine home games on Saturday nights except for their only matchup of the year against intrastate rival Albany on Friday, Feb. 28 to close out the month of February. All contests will start at 7:00 p.m. excluding the regular season finale against Toronto, which will have a 6:00 p.m. start time.

The team’s busiest months of the season are December, January and February, all with four games each.
